Intelligent, Resourceful & Creative Young Learners
Rivercrest is an International Baccalaureate World School authorized to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP is a curriculum framework that caters for students from 3-Year-Old ELC up to Year 5 – our Primary School years.
At Rivercrest, we acknowledge that young learners are intelligent, resourceful and creative individuals who grow, develop and learn at different rates. They explore their environment and learn about their world through play and relationships with peers, teachers, family and community members.
Through its inquiry-led, transdisciplinary framework, the PYP challenges students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore local and global issues and opportunities in real-life contexts.
PYP students learn how to take control of their learning, teachers collaborate to deepen student learning and increase their confidence and self-motivation. The whole school community, including parents, are viewed as partners in learning, and actively contribute to a holistic educational experience
